Fully electric transport is already part of our offering through one EV supplied by a regular subcontractor who usually works with us. We are not presenting that vehicle as FAMS-owned or describing the whole fleet as electric.

For an EV enquiry, we consider the complete duty: collections before filming, movements during the day and the return journeys after wrap. Daily mileage, passenger and luggage space, access to charging and time between movements all matter.

What helps us plan

• The likely daily route and any late changes in location.
• Charging available at accommodation, the studio or unit base.
• When a vehicle can charge without affecting a required movement.
• Passenger numbers, luggage and the appropriate vehicle type.

Ask about an EV early so availability and the charging plan can be considered together. We have not set a public date for a fully electric fleet.

We currently have two hybrids in our fleet mix. They sit alongside the subcontracted EV and HVO-fuelled vehicles when we discuss a production’s requirements.

A hybrid is not the same as a battery-electric vehicle. Fuel use depends on its design and the way it is driven, so we do not describe hybrid journeys as zero-emission. The exact vehicle and suitability are confirmed for the job.

HVO stands for hydrotreated vegetable oil, a renewable diesel alternative. Alongside our hybrids and the subcontracted EV, we use HVO across the rest of our fleet.

HVO use requires vehicle-manufacturer approval and suitable fuel supply. Its lifecycle carbon impact depends on the feedstock and the process used to make it, so a blanket percentage saving would not describe every supply accurately.

HVO still produces exhaust emissions. It is part of the current fuel approach, not the same as removing combustion from a journey. Where a production needs fuel evidence, discuss the required records with us at the outset.

Our purpose-built systems provide working-time, expense and mileage records that can support production sustainability reporting. FAMS does not hold formal albert accreditation; our role is to support the production’s work, not certify it.

BAFTA albert’s supplier guidance asks for evidence that relates to the production and the action taken. Agreeing the required transport information early helps establish what needs to be recorded and supplied.

Its sustainable travel guidance also encourages shared journeys and electric or hybrid vehicles where appropriate, with charging planned in advance. These are practical questions to raise during the transport brief, alongside passenger needs and call times.
